Staggered Springtime culling

So it's Springtime here in Australia, and my wardrobe is in desperate need of a Spring clean.  I would love to stage another all out assault on my clothing, shoe and accessory collection like I did earlier in the year, but for the time being while my weekends are mostly spent out on the road searching for the perfect house, I will be staggering my culling.

This week I am waving goodbye to a Country Road dress - Lord only knows why I opted for the khaki colourway instead of the grey, two pairs of gorgeous flat boots which although I love the look of, I just don't wear, a Country Road shirt and drapey skirt that taunt me "you are fat" and an ACNE blouse which would look better on me if I was 10 years younger.

All of these pieces are for sale on my eBay page along with a few other goodies culled by my Mum and Aunt.

  1. That's so weird - you going in to Spring and I'm heading in to Autumn/Winter. So the Ebay voice got to you then? I think it's due to visit me soon too.

    1. I'm glad we are heading into Spring - this Winter has been especially miserable!
I must say that eBay sucks at the moment. Not many watchers, not many bidders and too many unpaid item disputes!

  2. I've been staggering my own cull (which honestly just feels like it has been on-going), as I try and get wear out of things or attempt to breathe new life into something I seldom seem to wear. Almost at the point now where I doubt I'll want to get rid of anything. So refreshing! So good to see that you are keeping it up - it's so easy to let your wardrobe get out of hand.

    1. Jamie-lee, I find each time that I cull I opt to cull the item that I kept the last time because I could not bear to let it go. Hopefully one day soon I will be at the point you are at :)

  3. I am so haphazard regarding ebay - and there are so many items that I need to find homes for, that are practically new. Expensive mistakes that I am still trying to get my poor head around and ultimately learn from. But here I am, somewhat static, unable to write up the listings. Perhaps there's this fear of not being able to sell them. Not sure.

Love the title of this post,, your culling terminology never fails to tickle me!

Conversely, I am excited for the coming winter here. I am happiest in wool hats and not having to worry about the sight of my bare legs. I do like the idea of 'one in, one out', it may be something I ought to try out.

  4. you know as much as i like their concept, i've always found Acne designs to be really had to wear. file it under challenging aesthetics that only look good on stick-thin teen models! :P

good luck with this latest culling batch. it always feels good to sell some unworn closet items to someone who will give them a new home :)

    1. I agree re ACNE designs. I will stick to Isabel Marant (if I can ever afford her designs again), Country Road (although I hate their current season stuff) and my occasional bargain from random brand.
